E-Commerce Fraud and What You Can Do

Fraudulent orders end up costing you time and money. If a user's credit card is stolen, and used on your website, you will most likely end up with a chargeback. Now, you have shipped the item & must refund the money plus pay a small fee. This is a more common form, but there are others that you may not be as familiar with. This article on Printful discusses the common forms of fraud, and provides a list of common red flags:
- First-time shoppers
- Bigger than your average order
- Fast shipping
- Unusual location
- Large quantity of the same product
- Multiple shipping addresses (Unless you are on Shopify!)
- Shipping / billing addresses don’t match
- Multiple cards from a single IP address
- Payment info in CAPS LOCK
- Multiple transactions in a short time
